Welcome to SAINT-BENOIT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL in France
Right in the heart of the Loire Valley, an area recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the city of ANGERS boasts a lively historical town centre, a mild climate, a safe environment and an exceptional quality of life, making it the perfect setting for an international student experience. Angers is well located between Paris, Nantes, the Atlantic coast, Brittany and Normandy, and its central location offers plenty of opportunities to visit France and Europe.
Saint-Benoît consists of two primary schools, a middle school, a high-school, and an intensive two-year study course preparing for the competitive entrance examinations to the French scientific ‘Grandes Écoles’ (highly-selective engineering schools). In France, at the end of their secondary education (high school cycle), students must sit a national exam called “Baccaulauréat”. Then they can choose to pursue their higher education.

Host program
Every year our school hosts a growing number of visiting students (15 to 18 years old) from Europe (Austria, Germany, Ireland, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia…), North, Central and South America (Canada, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico…), Lebanon, Asia (China, Japan), Australia…
In Saint-Benoît’s host program for international visiting students, high-school students will become a part of our international community.
For three to nine months, visiting students follow the complete curriculum alongside their French classmates and contribute to the wide range of nationalities and cultures that already enriches our school. A typical day for our international students consists of attending lessons and other educational activities, interacting with peers from around the world and with our international staff, and participating in a variety of cultural events.
All our guests have two options for their accommodation: they can either live full time with a host family, or they can choose to be boarders during the week and join a host family at the weekend and during holidays.
The SAINT-BENOIT INTERNATIONAL HOST PROGRAM includes:
- all course modules included in the official French curriculum as well as optional courses tailored to each student’s interests,
- 5h per week of French as Foreign Language lessons,
- a full preparatory course delivered by the CIDEF institute (Centre International D’Etudes du Français) to prepare for the DELF language certificate,
- school books & locker space,
- student mentoring,
- field trips and cultural excursions,
- various activities offered by the Saint-Benoît sports association,
- all meals,
- accommodation with a host family and/or boarding school,
- bus and tramway card valid 5 months,
- a full-time officer for international student affairs.
